Flexible Spending

Don’t forget about your FSA dollars

Don’t let your flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) dollars go to waste. Put them to good use on prescription frames, goggles and sunglasses.

No FSA or HSA? No worries. Just apply for insurance reimbursement after purchasing.

FAQ

What are flexible spending and health savings accounts?
Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA) are programs that allow you to set aside money (before taxes) for specific health care expenses. If you’re unsure whether or not you have an FSA or HSA, please check with your employer or insurance company.

What is the difference between FSA and HSA?
One big difference between HSA and FSA is that HSA funds roll over year after year while FSA funds expire at the end of each year if left unused. Spend your FSA dollars before December 31st or lose them!

What can I purchase with my FSA or HSA?
Optics Outfitter accepts FSA and HSA dollars for prescription eyewear purchases, which include prescription sports frames and goggles, prescription sunglasses, progressives and readers.

If you would like to use your FSA or HSA card to pay for a portion of your purchase and apply the remaining balance to a different card, please call us at 888.268.9888, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. MT M-F.

What’s the best way to place my FSA or HSA order?
First, double-check the balance on your FSA account.

You can place an order online, using your FSA or HSA card as you would any other credit card, or by giving us a ring at 888.268.9888, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. MT M-F. Make sure you have an up-to-date prescription and a pupillary distance, which can be measured here

Helpful tip: We aren’t able to process payment until we have all of your prescription information, so be sure to keep an eye out for emails about missing information once you place your order.

When is the cut-off for placing an order online with FSA dollars?
If your benefits expire at the end of the year, you have until Monday, December 31 at 11:59 p.m. MT to place an order with us using your FSA dollars. Be sure to double-check with your carrier for details on your plan.

If you first want to find the perfect pair through a Home Try-On, we recommend you order one sooner rather than later! (That way you can have enough time to decide on a winner before the cut-off time.)

Can I split payment between my FSA and a different card?
Yes! If you’d like to use your FSA or HSA card to pay for a portion of your purchase and apply the remaining balance to a different card, please reach out via chat or call us at 888.268.9888, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. MT daily. We’re happy to set that up!

How do I get a receipt?
We’ll include a physical copy with your purchase. If you need another copy, you can access your receipts by emailing info@opticsoutfitter.com

Can I return an order paid for with my FSA or HSA?
We have a 30-day, hassle-free return or exchange policy for all of our eyewear, so we are happy to exchange your frames for a different pair if you aren’t satisfied. However, we recommend checking with your insurance provider before requesting a refund to an FSA card. Unlike HSA, FSA funds must be used during a defined time period. For some insurance plans, your funds will be forfeited if you request a refund.

I still have some questions. Help.
No problem. Chat us, give us a call at 888.268.9888, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. MT daily, or email info@opticsoutfitter.com.
